The technology, available as an Eclipse plugin and set of Ant tasks, provides a consistent, measurable approach to building a set of JUnit tests. With CoView, each JUnit test is geared towards a specific path within a method.

CoView can also analyze existing JUnit tests to determine which, if any, paths are being executed as well. With Comet, you can easily gather path and branch coverage during your builds, as well as determine how testable your code will be in future maintenance efforts.

The CoView and Comet products help you design, develop and maintain testable code. CoView analyzes the paths in your methods, creates the necessary JUnit tests and Mock Objects, ensures overall testability and measures coverage. Comet gives you complete Continuous Integration coverage through Ant.

CoView highlights you your paths, one at a time. CoView also creates 1 JUnit test case per path. With this information, you can create a comprehensive set of JUnit tests that execute lines, branches and paths within your classes. You can also visualize realizable and unrealizable paths, an important step in developing a unit testing regression suite. Since testability is best defined by your requirements, CoView lets you select from a number of industry standard metrics.

You can define the metric, threshhold, and severity level. As you code within Eclipse, decorators are immediately displayed when you exceed your threshold. You also have the ability to ignore metrics while coding, since sometimes code complexity is required.CoView offers you more control for your code.

Decorators (like syntax errors or warnings) are immediately displayed if you exceed your metric thresholds. With one click, you can easily analyze your code testability. Results are easily viewed in the CoView Quality Manager view and Eclipse Problems view or through a number of reports.
